BUFFALO BILLS

Led by quarterback Josh Allen and wide receiver Stefon Diggs, many are excited to see how the Bills season turns out as we get closer to Super Bowl LVII in February.

About The team

From 1991-94, the Bills would go on to play in four straight Super Bowls. Those teams were led by five players that are now in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, including QB Jim Kelly and DE Bruce Smith, who are players to have their numbers retired.

The Bills, which are named after Wild West showman Buffalo Bill Cody, joined the NFL in 1970.

The Bills are one of the most popular NFL teams in Canada. Many fans from the southern Ontario region are season ticket holders, due in part to the fact that Bills Stadium is just 30 minutes across the border and two hours from Toronto.

GOING TO BUFFALO ?

The city of Buffalo is located on the Niagara River between Lake Ontario and Lake Erie. Any visit to the area has to include nearby Niagara Falls, one of the natural wonders of the world. Every second, more than 3 million liters of water flow over the 176-foot drop.

Any mention of food destinations in the city has to start with the Anchor Bar, which is the home of the original Buffalo chicken wing. While there are five locations in the Buffalo area, there are now three in southern Ontario as well.

If you’re looking for more variety, there is a Buffalo Wing Trail that includes 14 of the best restaurants in the city. To wash it all down with some local flavour, the Pearl Street Grill and Brewery boasts a long list of craft beers.

If sports is on the agenda and the Bills are not in town, you can take in an NHL game with the Sabres or a baseball game with the Bisons, the Triple-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays. Both venues are within minutes of the Canadian border.

The city also enjoys a vibrant culture in the arts, highlighted by the iconic Shea’s Performing Arts Center, which plays host to popular musicals all year.
